Innovative V4-Ukraine Talent Fusion Program Funded by the International Visegrad Fund Launches to Strengthen Tech Ecosystems Across the Visegrad Region

Today marks a significant milestone as Obuda Uni Venture Capital (HU), Accelpoint (PL), Rivne IT Cluster (UA), and Insane Business Ideas (CZ) announce the launch of the V4-Ukraine Talent Fusion Program, an initiative aimed to strengthen the innovation ecosystems within the Visegrad region and beyond. The program is funded by the International Visegrád Fund with an aim to mitigate the challenges brought forward by the current geopolitical situation, as well as deep-rooted, pervasive socio-economic problems namely: capital deficiency, tech talent exodus, and lack of diversity.

The project comprehensively consists of different programme elements, thus offering different tools and opportunities to the participants.

It kicks off with the Tech Talent Superstars Events organised in Budapest, Prague and Warsaw where talented individuals from the tech ecosystems will be portrayed as role models to inspire the community. These events have a strong focus on minority and female inclusion as well as access to capital for young entrepreneurs.

The second pillar of the programme is the Go & Grow Masterclasses Series, in which 12 online sessions disseminate practical knowledge to the ecosystem. The masterclasses are structured within a curated curriculum that progresses from startup fundamentals to scaling strategies and, lastly, fundraising. As a result, whether already on their way or just about to start, the participants will improve their skills by learning from industry experts

The last part of the project is the #IamPitching @CEEcosystem Summit Competition which starts with an online competition that invites startups from the V4 and Ukraine to apply with a two-minute video pitch, which will be featured on the website from where it can be shared to accumulate audience votes. The top 13 startups, as determined by the votes, will advance to the next stage, which involves expert mentoring and pitch practice.

It culminates in the CEEcosystem Summit  (Budapest), with a dedicated pitching track in front of a competent jury, consisting of fundraising experts and investors. All startups that advance to this stage will also receive perks worth thousands of euros from big providers, alongside real investment opportunities with regional investors. The provision for accommodation for two nights and admission fees will be covered for the participants and the project partners. They will also be awarded a booth that makes it easier to organise meetings.

The competition focuses on DeepTech, Robotics, and Automation across sustainability, life sciences, and defence industries, primarily targeting pre-seed and seed stages with an emphasis on nurturing young talent.

The organisers hope that this initiative helps to keep the alliance together within the tech sector as well as increases the region’s resilience by supporting innovation that further boosts the competitiveness of the V4.
