Mycellen Supplements, one of the most promising Hungarian players in biotechnology-driven health and beauty care, has received a 50 million forint investment from Obuda Uni Venture Capital. The capital increase aims to strengthen the company’s market presence, expand its product portfolio, and increase awareness of science-based, prevention-focused beauty and health care through more prominent communication.
Mycellen develops premium dietary supplements and cosmetics containing innovative active ingredients, with nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) at their core. This essential cellular coenzyme plays a key role in energy production, cellular regeneration, DNA repair, and immune system function. NAD+ levels naturally decline with age, which can lead to slower cellular processes, fatigue, and visible skin aging.
Mycellen’s research and development focus on replenishing NAD+, both through dietary supplements and cosmetic formulations. The products aim to boost cellular vitality, support natural regeneration, and help maintain a youthful appearance. Combining scientific innovation with the needs of a modern lifestyle, the company creates solutions that support both health and aesthetics.
“Solve small problems, then bigger ones, and eventually those of an entire society,” says Martin Széchenyi, co-founder of Mycellen, who believes that true innovation is valuable only if it can improve people’s quality of life and mindset in the long run.
Mycellen’s developments offer significant value on a societal level as well. Supporting healthy aging not only enhances individual well-being, but also contributes to reducing chronic diseases, easing pressure on the healthcare system, and increasing workforce participation. A prevention-focused, health-conscious lifestyle also creates economic and social benefits over the long term.
The investment will be used to continue product development, strengthen marketing and television presence, and expand brand awareness. The company’s five-year goal is to make its products widely accessible across Hungary and contribute to making the country a symbol of healthy and conscious living. The brand’s vision is for Hungary to become “the country of one million NAD+ users and Europe’s healthiest society.”
